PLTS 3,6 KW in Sukamade Village

CSR activity in the form of social service for the first time has been done by PUI – SKO team and started to be proclaimed to become an annual program started in 2017. This initial social service activity was conducted by PUI – SKO team by installing solar power plant (PLTS) with power of 3.6 kW (peak) in Sukamade Village, Banyuwangi. The background of this activity is because the village doesn’t have any electricity sources from PLN due to the difficult access with steep terrain to reach the village. Therefore, the surrounding community must rely on diesel-engined generators to illuminate villages and people’s homes during the night.

Using a generator as the only source of electricity certainly does not provide much hope for the people of Sukamade Village since it can only be enjoyed by residents from 05:00 to 22:00 pm only. This is considering that the fuel used to power it up is diesel. Thus, by replacing diesel-fueled generators into solar power plants (PLTS), it can save residents’ expenses for other daily needs rather than buying diesel fuel all the time. It is hoped that the CSR activity from 12-13 May 2017 can bring a lot more benefits for the residents of Sukamade Village and become an annual program conducted by PUI-SKO team.
